Join us in welcoming Tiara Davis to the Thrivalaska team! Tiara will assume the position of Executive Director in April, 2021. We’re very excited to have her join us! Tiara was selected after an extensive national search to lead the organization in its mission to deliver high quality early care and learning services to our community.
Tiara brings nearly a decade of education and counseling experience, including advocacy, career counseling and program development. She is also an advocate of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion model, and has led DEI efforts throughout her career which will be vital to Thrivalaska’s commitment to meeting the challenges of the families we serve.

Prior to joining Thrivalaska, Ms. Davis served as Director of Career Services at Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, where she demonstrated a passion for supporting individuals and groups to achieve their highest potential. She has been recognized throughout her career for her efforts to give a voice to people in more vulnerable populations.

Celebrating 46 years in the community, Thrivalaska serves children, families and early childhood educators in the interior, northern and southeast regions of Alaska. Thrivalaska was founded in 1974 during the Trans Alaska oil pipeline. Thrivalaska is a community based non-profit organization committed to the delivery of high quality early care and learning services. Our core purpose is “helping children and families thrive.” Thrivalaska operates 4 major programs – Head Start Birth to Five, thread Resource & Referral, thread Child Care Assistance, and a School Age program at Pearl Creek Elementary School.
